The Power of Saying No as an Entrepreneur
Caught myself thinking about this the other day. Saying no might be the most underused tool I have.
It's easy to say yes to everything. Every pitch, every favor, every quick call, every meeting. You don't want to miss out on something big or let someone down. But that adds up fast. Before you know it you're stretched thin, doing things that were never really yours to do in the first place. I've been there, nodding along when I should have stepped back. It's a lesson I'm still learning.
There's real power in that word. Not "no, but..." Just a plain no, with no explanation attached. It's not about being rude. It's about protecting your time, your focus, and your energy. When everything is a yes, nothing actually gets your full attention.
I think of it like tending a garden. You have to pull the weeds so the things worth growing actually have room. Every no you give to the wrong thing is a yes to the right one.
I've been more intentional about this lately. Still working on it, honestly. But I can already feel the difference when I pick my spots instead of spreading myself everywhere. Less noise, more movement.
